Today

blackbird

Waking in the morning light

To the blackbird’s voice

Hanging at the window’s edge

Springing clouds loose and white

Pump the room with

Morning light

Limbs, body electrify

I stretch, I pull

I plunge into day

Behind my lips

Thick wings ruffling

Wild like my heart
